Our Story
What we do & how we started
Our objective is to provide the best care possible in every aspect from every member of staff in the Home. We set ourselves high standards and are constantly striving to maintain them. We take pride in maintaining quality care with high standard for our residents.
The qualified care staff at Ynysddu pride themselves in working very closely with tissue viability. It is our belief that it is equally important to meet the residents’ end of life needs and wishes and we plan end of life care in advance, to ensure those wishes are met with professionalism and, more importantly, with compassion and dignity.
At Ynysddu we have good links with palliative care teams to ensure our clients are as pain and symptom free as possible. Our qualified staff have received End of Life training with the St David’s Foundation and aim to fulfil end of life wishes where practicably possible.
Our goals
We provide Outstanding Care
At Ynysddu Nursing Home the rights of the residents are fundamental to our philosophy of care. We encourage our residents to exercise their rights at all times.
- Provide a homely, secure, stable, comfortable and welcoming environment where individuality of care and maintenance of dignity is paramount. Deliver a flexible service which improves and sustains residents’ overall quality of life.
- Provide excellent quality care based on clinical effectiveness, evaluated and audited as required by the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care Wales Act 2016.
- Ensure our residents are understood by using the most appropriate channel of communication.
- Provide an environment that service users feel is their own by promoting independence, encouraging contact with family, and providing security, comfort and reassurance.
- Make every change to a service user’s level of care and support with a smooth transition by ensuring that changes to needs are met with a seamless delivery.
- Respect our residents’ choices by enabling them to make decisions for themselves. In situations where this is not possible, maintain relationships with relatives in order to act in the residents’ best interests.
- Welcome relatives into the Home at any time, provide a homely environment in which families feel comfortable and ensure that they feel they are part of our Home too.
- Have the right to privacy for themselves, their belongings and their affairs. Staff adopt a ‘knock before entering’ approach when going in to a resident’s own room.
- Ynysddu Nursing Home supports a holistic approach to our deliverance of care.
